Inventory
The key to a successful move is organisation. Make
a household inventory, a list for each room in
the house cataloguing every item. Use our

- Utilities
Inform your electricity, gas, water, telephone, cable /
satellite, broadband suppliers you are moving and
arrange for utilities at your new property. Don't
forget to record those meter readings, add that to the
Move Day Check List!

We're Moving
Ask us for your for your free New Address Notification
postcards, they're handy to let friends and family
members know your new address and phone numbers.
Let banks, credit card companies, local authorities,
know your new details.
Inform the schools, the new Local Education Authorities
and any clubs that your family belong to.
Set up and pay for the Post Office to redirect your mail
for 6 months, click

Back up the important files on your computer and keep it
safe.

Keep It Tidy
Have a look in the garage, cupboards, lofts and basement
for items that are no longer needed
Check for flammable and dangerous goods, they cannot be
shipped under any circumstances.
Try to use all the contents of the fridge / freezer,
larder, then defrost and clean. Most food items
cannot be moved.

Packing The Van
We will pack your belongings into the van, using our
experience to ensure your possessions arrive safe and
sound.
If your move involves an overnight stay, remember to
pack extra clothes and toiletries for the stay.
The last thing to be packed should be the essentials; a
kettle, tea, coffee and biscuits. Other items that
should be easily accessed are vacuum cleaner and the
kids box.

Pets
We do not move pets, please consider how you're going
to transport your pets and re-house them at the new
address.

Kids
Try to involve the kids as much as possible so they are
looking forward to their new home, community and school.
Please make sure your children are supervised at all
times while we are at work. There will be some heavy
items being transported and this is not a safe
environment for excited children.
Have a box of toys for the children to help keep them
occupied, this should be one of the last items loaded
and first removed.

Arriving
Keep a key for your new house on you at all
times.
Record your meter readings for the domestic services and
check they are switched on and working.
If you're arriving late in the day, ensure the bedrooms
are fit for use and the curtains are up.
